LEED GA Exam Prep and PDH Courses

Module 3: Water Efficiency and Material Resources

In the LEED system, water is a precious commodity. Buildings should minimize their requirement for potable water for the use of a) irrigation, b) flushable fixtures within the building (brownwater), and c) all other fixtures for water use within the building. Typically this requirement is accomplished by either conserving the amount of water used or reusing water for multiple purposes.

In the LEED system, conservation continues by considering the demolition debris from the site, the new and reused materials that are used for construction of the building, and the materials that are utilized in the building once it is occupied.

This module introduces the technology and logistics of Conservation.
